This neighbouring resort can be visited for free with a 6-day Les Deux Alpes lift pass. It is just across the valley and a 40 minute drive from the chalet.
The main resort area of Alpe d’Huez is nestled in a sunny bowl with the gentle beginner slopes in the resort basin, more challenging intermediate runs at mid-mountain level and the steeper expert terrain at high altitude. There are also some nice tree-lined runs down to the linked villages of Oz, Vaujany and Auris-en-Oisans.
Although Les Deux Alpes is large enough to keep the majority of our guests occupied for at least a week, it is nice to at least have the option of trying out a neighbouring resort.
A direct link between Alpe d’Huez and Les Deux Alpes has been agreed upon and the two resorts will be linked in 2021. The two combined resorts, the Grande Alpes domain, will be one of the largest ski areas in Europe.
For cyclists, we are a good option for cycling accommodation near Alpe d’Huez as we are a short distance (10 kilometres) from the start of the climb up the 21 hairpins. We also offer a good alternative to cycling accommodation in Bourg d’Oisans, particularly for those looking for a higher standard of comfort. Venosc, like Bourg d’Oisans, is well located as a base for cycling in the French Alps.
