Ski & Snowboard

Les Deux Alpes (L2A) is the largest ski resort in the Dauphine region of France and the second oldest in France. The resort itself sits at an altitude of 1650 metres, and with it’s glacier at 3600m, offers snow sure skiing through the season. It is less than 70 kilometres from Grenoble and is readily accessible from Chambery, Grenoble, Lyon and Geneva airports. It is adjacent to the resorts of Alpe d’Huez (to which it will be linked in 2021) and the spectacular off piste playground of La Grave.

Ski holidays at Chalet Morville

Since Chalet Morville is located just below the resort of Les 2 Alpes, it provides a peaceful retreat to return to the end of a day’s skiing, away from the noise of resort life. We have created a getaway in a magical location with everything you need for a luxurious holiday at hand. Our mountain hideaway is the ideal place to relax and recover so that you are ready for the next day on the slopes!

Road Cycling

We are very lucky to be situated in area that is not only spectacularly beautiful, but has some of the most world-renowned cycling cols within reach. Within an easy twenty to thirty minute cycle from the chalet you can be starting the climbs towards Col du Lauteret, Col du Galibier, Col du Croix de Fer, Col du Glandon and of course Alpe d’Huez. This area truly is a mecca for cyclists and on many a cyclists bucket list.

CYCLING FROM CHALET MORVILLE

Chalet Morville is equipped with everything a cyclist needs. We have a large secure garage for storing bikes, track pumps, bike stands and tools for repairs and maintenance. Additionally, we have energy bars, gels, Co2 canisters and inner tubes available. As cyclists ourselves, we know what is important!

We are also pleased to have been awarded the top three star award by the Oisans Tourist Association as a cycle-friendly chalet. We are also supportive of e-Bikes, which are increasing in popularity in the area.

Other activities

Whilst skiing and cycling are popular activities in our area of the alps, they are by no means the only activities. The Ecrins National park is home to some of the best climbing, walking and mountaineering in France. The park is home to high peaks, glacier fields, glacial valleys and subalpine woodlands and lakes. You do not need to be a highly experienced hiker or climber to properly experience what the park has to offer, as there are many day walks to spectacular locations that can be reached by a person with just reasonable fitness. Other activities include white water rafting on the Veneon river, which runs just below the village.

Lake Lauvitel

One of our favourite locations is only a few kilometres away, but unseen to many, as it is inaccessible to vehicles. The Lac de Lauvitel is a magical alpine lake that has crystal clear water and various waterfalls cascading into it from the glaciers on the surrounding peaks – truly spectacular! It is also home to playful and inquisitive marmots who often come to greet the walkers at the end of the uphill climb to the lake. On a hot day the lake is the perfect location for a swim – it is quite shallow at the edges, so not too invigorating!
